Flame Message Server
Safe &
Secure Business CollaborationSecure and reliable integrated messaging has become essential in the successful operation of enterprises and organisations. Reliable communication of messages such as invoices, statements, student and employee records, agreements, contracts, medical claims etc. between partners such as banks, industry, government organisations, academic institutions such as schools and universities, and pharmacies, doctors and medical aid administrators is no longer feasible using traditional methods such as post, fax and even email as these simply do not provide the reliability, security and speed demanded.
With the utilisation of the internet and modern XML standards for creating business documents such as quotations, orders, invoices, statements, contracts, financial instruments, medical claims etc., secure and reliable integration of business processes both within and between business partners becomes an efficient streamlined process.
The Flame Message Server (FMS) is a multi-protocol secure business message server providing the middleware for communicating business messages over industry standard protocols conforming to the ebXML (Electronic Business using eXtensible Markup Language) and the RosettaNet specifications.
FMS provides the critical middleware in the implementation of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) between heterogeneous business processes.
Starter SolutionSpecifically designed to allow an organisation to communicate business documents such as invoices, statements, credit notes, price lists etc. to a remote business partner unidirectionally. The system provides a flexible interface for communicating business documents to a local FMS server. FMS then encapsulates the message and any associated attachments in an electronic envelope and communicates the envelope securely to a remote business partner both in realtime and over a connection which may not always be available by initiating message push ie. by queuing the message locally and then pushing it across to the remote partner when the connection becomes available. Messages may also be retrieved in a similar way (pull) from a remote message server.
The professional solution builds on the starter solution by allowing remote business partners to communicate business messages to local business system processes enabling full eBusiness partner interaction. With the professional solution FMS can be configured as an intermediary hub enabling messages to be relayed to remote destinations.
The professional solution comes with an optional developers application programmers interface (API) for the client interface. This option provides the ability to interface business applications directly to the FMS client interface.
The FMS Enterprise Solution builds on the above by providing a multi eBusiness partner solution.
FMS Enterprise is a solution for multiple business partners sending and receiving eBusiness messages. It is typically used by large organisations with multiple departments deployed across different locations or by service providers providing an eBusiness hub to multiple organisations.
Optionally available with FMS Enterprise is a developers application programmers interface (API) for creating integrated customised messaging server connections and providing the ability to interact directly with existing business processes.
FMS Enterprise provides the necessary tools to monitor business transactions. It is specifically targeted for high volume business message environments.

FMS complies with various internationally recognised messaging standards including the following
FMS is compliant with the
OASIS ebXML Messaging Services Version 3
standard as outlined in the OASIS ebXML Messaging Services Version 3.0: Part 1,
Core Features Committee Specification.
This specification
describes a communication-protocol neutral method for exchanging electronic
business messages. It defines specific enveloping constructs supporting
reliable, secure delivery of business information including a flexible
enveloping technique, permitting messages to contain payloads of any format
type. This versatility ensures that legacy electronic business systems
employing traditional syntaxes (i.e. UN/EDIFACT, ASC X12, or HL7) can leverage
the advantages of the ebXML infrastructure along with users of emerging
technologies.
